Initiate Calibration

  1. Set up the Dimension Icon for the imaging mode will use. The system must be set up and ready to acquire both optical and AFM data.
 
  1. Ensure that the Axis Colinearity is calibrated:
    1. Go to Calibrate > Optical > Optics/SPM Axis Colinearity
    2. Check if the field of view parameters are correct—if they are not, follow the instructions in the Wizard to calibrate.
  1. Click the MIRO icon to open the MIRO Canvas.
  1. Click the Expanded Mode icon in the NanoScope main window.
 
  1. In the Scan dropdown, ensure that the X Offset and Y Offset are set to 0 and the XY Closed Loop is On:

  1. Click the Calibrate icon in the MIRO canvas to start the registration procedure:

 
  1. Install a sample that has a feature that is easy to identify in the optical image.
  2. The MIRO Registration Wizard will open and guide you through the image registration procedure:

  1. Click Next to continue.
